The Sandbox is a decentralised, community-driven gaming ecosystem where creators can share and monetise voxel assets and gaming experiences on the Ethereum blockchain.
About the Theme:
Izmir carries a very strong heritage with its 8,500 years of history. Hittite, Aeolian, Ionian, Lydian, Persian, Hellenic, Roman, Byzantine, Aydınoğulları and Ottoman civilizations; the city is home to many civilizations with their cultural accumulations.
Ephesus, a UNESCO-protected World Heritage site in Izmir, is an ancient Greek city on the west coast of Anatolia. Unique monuments such as the Temple of Artemis.
In addition to the ancient city of Ephesus, Bergama is an ancient city that stands out with its rich cultural heritage.is an ancient city. Theater, temples and especially the Library of Pergamon is known for its important buildings.
It is aimed to highlight the cultural heritages of İzmir and let them inspire creative games for the metaverse.
Under the theme “On the Trail of Ancient Roads”, players will explore the ancient culture of Izmir, delve deep into history and uncover the mysteries of ancient civilizations.
📌 Event Details:
- Date: April 27–28, 2024
- Location: Originn Creative Hub, İzmir, Turkey
- Who Can Participate: Gamers, artists, and game designers
- Tools: Create games using The Sandbox’s VoxEdit and Game Maker software. Please note that participants should bring their own PCs.
- Workshops: Game Maker and VoxEdit training workshops will be given on Discord before the game jam.
📅 Important Dates:
- April 15: Deadline for applications
- April 15–22: Announcement of accepted applicants
- April 22–25: VoxEdit Workshops (20:00–21:00) and Game Maker Workshops (21:00–22:00) on Discord
- April 27: Opening Ceremony (15:00)
- April 27–28: Game Jam (April 27 16:00 to April 28, 18:00)
- April 28: Presentations and Announcement of Results (18:00–20:00)
💰 30.000 SAND Total Reward Pool:
- 1st place: 6,500 SAND + 1x1 LAND
- 2nd place: 3,500 SAND + 1x1 LAND
- 3rd place: 1,500 SAND + 1x1 LAND
- 7 X Honorable mention awards: 500 SAND each.
- Prize Pool After Publishing Experiences: 15,000 SAND
Creators will be able to receive additional SAND reward based on the average ratings they will get after the self-publishing process of the individual experiences.
