İstanbul 2124 Game Jam: We Imagine İstanbul’s Future Together

Istanbul, 24–26 May 2024 — Istanbul 2124 Game Jam, which will be organized in cooperation with The Sandbox, StartGate and YTU GamesUP to create a future dream in the heart of Istanbul, offers participants the opportunity to shape the future of Istanbul, which has hosted many civilizations throughout history, by bringing technology and creativity together.

This exciting event provides a unique platform for students and game developers to show how they imagine Istanbul in 2124. Taking place at StartGate Maslak, the Game Jam will be held on May 24–26, 2024 and participants will reimagine the history, streets, skies and culture of Istanbul in the metaverse world of The Sandbox.

Istanbul 2124 Game Jam, beyond being a game development event, aims to host the journey of shaping the future of a city that is considered one of the most important cultural and historical centers in the world! Participants who will interpret Istanbul’s state a century from now in The Sandbox metaverse with different gamification approaches will be inspired from today for Istanbul, a world city with rich content.

During the Game Jam, participants will use their imagination to design and develop their own experiences using The Sandbox’s free Game Maker and VoxEdit tools.

Total 30,000 SAND Prize Pool:

• 1st place: 6,500 SAND + 1x1 LAND
• 2nd place: 3,500 SAND + 1x1 LAND
• 3rd place: 1,500 SAND + 1x1 LAND
• 7 X Honorable Mentions: 500 SAND each
• Prize Pool After Publishing Experiences: 15,000 SAND
• Creators will be able to receive additional SAND rewards based on their average score after the self-publishing process of individual experiences.

Organized in collaboration with The Sandbox, StartGate and YTU GamesUP, Istanbul 2124 Game Jam is not only a game development event, but also a platform that brings Turkey’s young talents to the world stage.
